Auf dem Amiga nahmen die S.D.I.-Zeiten ein Ende, als wir uns Anfang 1990 zu Paramount umbenannten. Der Name war schonmal wesentlich besser.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Jahr 1989 ging zu Ende. Marc hatte besonders in der zweiten Jahresh\u00e4lfte enorm gro\u00dfe Fortschritte bei der Assembler-Programmierung gemacht, und die Ideen wollten umgesetzt werden. Und da wir eine Clique waren, wollten wir auch gemeinsam auftreten, aber ich fand den bislang verwendeten Namen „S.D.I.“ („Software Destruction Initiative“) wirklich schlecht, und wollte keiner Gruppe diesen Namens beitreten. Sorry, Kellus! (Bis dato war ich bei „S.D.I.“ Demos<\/a> h\u00f6chstens unter „featuring“ gef\u00fchrt.) Also \u00fcberlegten wir uns einen neuen Namen, und wahrscheinlich kamen wir bei der Silvesterfeier 1989\/1990 auf den Namen „Paramount“. Vielleicht auch nicht der originellste Name, aber doch auf jeden Fall sehr positiv besetzt. Also war ich sp\u00e4testens ab diesem Zeitpunkt endlich nicht mehr der einsame Cowboy, der vielleicht mal ein Logo beisteuerte oder im Scrolltext gegr\u00fc\u00dft wurde, sondern ein offizielles Mitglied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ein l\u00e4ngst vergessenes Demo!<\/h2>\n\n\n

Ich hatte das Demo v\u00f6llig vergessen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ja, ich erinnerte mich an einige „Paramount“-Logos, die ich gezeichnet habe (und vielleicht mal separat in einem Artikel zeige), und ich habe auch nicht vergessen, dass wir mal ein paar Monate so hie\u00dfen. Aber dass wir als „Paramount“ kurz davor waren, ein Demo zu releasen, das habe ich v\u00f6llig vergessen. Mittlerweile habe ich das auf meiner Homepage<\/a> korrigiert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Irgendwann zwischen Corrosion 4 und Skullraider habe ich auch meinen Handle ge\u00e4ndert, und aus „Yello“ wurde „Molloch“ – angelehnt an den H\u00f6llenf\u00fcrsten „Moloch“ aus „Paradise Lost“<\/a>, aber bewusst mit Doppel-L. (Was einige wohl f\u00fcr einen Schreibfehler halten.<\/a>) Das geschah wohl vor Ende November 1989, denn es existiert zu Hause ein Bild, das ein „S.D.I.“ Graffiti-Logo zeigt, welches von „Molloch“ signiert wurde, und das laut R\u00fcckseite am 17.\/18.11.1989 entstand. Marc blieb noch eine Weile bei „Hulk“, bis er zu „Cosmos“<\/a> wurde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kein Hinweis auf dem Diskettenlabel!<\/h2>\n\n\n

Als ich mit dem Kryoflux-Board<\/a> um den Jahreswechsel 2018\/2019 den ersten Schwung Disketten \u00fcberspielt habe, war da auch eine dabei, die auf den ersten Blick nur Grafiken enthielt (darunter auch das Batman-Fledermaus-Logo des Ende Oktober 1989<\/a> erschienenen Kinofilms). Ein paar Logo-Entw\u00fcrfe, das Bild der Heuschrecke\/ Grille, und sogar noch ein paar S.DI.-Logos. Mehr war laut Diskettenlogo auch nicht zu erwarten: „Bilder + Logos 1“. (Wof\u00fcr das „S. K.“ stand – keine Ahnung. Die Inhalte der Diskette geben auch keinen Hinweis.)<\/p>\n\n\n

Und dann war noch eine ganz unscheinbare Datei dabei. Sie hie\u00df „test“, 70 KB nur. Keine weiteren Hinweise. Zuerst dachte ich, es w\u00e4re auch ein Bild. Aber schnell wurde klar, dass es ein ausf\u00fchrbares Programm war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auf der Workbench des Amiga 1200 lie\u00df es sich nicht starten, also probierte ich es auf einem Amiga 500 mit Workbench 1.3, und siehe da: Auf einmal war der Bildschirm voller Farben, Copper-Spielereien, in Sinus schwingenden Logos… Und ich erinnerte mich wieder! Es war ohne Sound (unser altes Problem…), und bis auf einen kleinen Font war dieses mal sogar alles von uns selbst beigesteuert (Ironie aus).<\/p>\n\n\n

Megademo-Schriftzug<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Das Demo meldete sich ein wenig \u00fcbertrieben als „Megademo“, vielleicht waren noch mehr Teile geplant. Die Effekte hatte man alle schon gesehen, aber vielleicht noch nie zuvor kombiniert auf einem einzigen Screen. Eine Ausnahme gab es allerdings: Der blinkende Cursor hinter „Please enter handle:“ lud dazu ein, etwas einzugeben. In der Version, die mir vorliegt, waren einige unserer Namen hinterlegt, so dass bei der Eingabe von „Molloch“ genau mein pers\u00f6nlicher Scrolltext erschien. Nette Idee, die ich so glaube ich nie umgesetzt gesehen habe. In Summe war es eher eine Technikdemo, was man alles in 50 fps auf dem Bildschirm machen konnte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Und hier ist das „Paramount Megademo“. Das Release-Date ist der 5.2.1990 (ein Montag).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

hi ! this is molloch of paramount. you have chosen your input very wisely …. i“m the grafix-designer in this goup. one of my specialities are fonts . this font is unfortunately not mine, but i“m sure ya like it (ripped by hulk from ballistix) . the font you can see below is painted by me and it is called — stop — . it was painted with dpaint iii in lo-res with 8 (7) colors. also painted by molloch is the paramount logo above (also lo-res, 300 pixel in x-direction, full 32 colors, anti-aliased) . and last, but not least: the – megademo logo – at the bottom of this demo . the vertical scroller is -of course- the stop-font, too. this first part of the mega-demo ii has more than 3 colors (even more than 50-no halfbright). well, i have to tell ya this: a few weeks ago, we changed our name from the glorious – software destruction initiative (sdi) – into – paramount – ,because the old name was shit. o.k. guys … here are my greetings : hi to robotech, d.o.c. well, so ya found my scrolltext. thiz iz ofcoz manowarrior of paramount speaking…. i“m here at hulk“s place writin thiz fuckin scrolly-rolly full with bytes of bullshit…. if some lame guyz should have missed it: some weekz ago, we changed our name from – software destruction initiative (s.d.i.) – to – paramount – s.d.i. was a good name (hello molloch !) but paramount sounds better. perhaps ya wanna know something „bout me. well, i“m graphician, organizer, swapper and founder of thiz cool group the name of which ya can read above. today is the 5.2.1990. nearly exact two years ago (at the 8.2.1988) i found together with hulk (the coder of thiz cool piece of cake) our group. i“m searching somebody to buy my c64-system. then we would be an amiga-only-group. how do ya like this part of mega-demo ??? there are several more parts which are stretching the amiga to it“s limits….. as i will soon sell my c64, i will just greet my two best 64-friends: mss and dr.tod !!! my personal amiga-greetinx go to: – spreadpoint – phenomena – d.o.c. – thrust – freestyle – …… for more greetinx try your group-handle.
